Satoshi Solar - Our Story
Satoshi Solar started with a humanitarian aid project. The plan called for dropping communications equipment out of an airplane, into a disaster area. As you might imagine, regular solar panels are much too fragile to survive the shock of impact unless they are packed in very large, heavy, and expensive crates.
This made us look at flexible folding panels. Unfortunately, all the portable flexible panels we could find were too heavy and too expensive.
This is the experience that gave birth to Satoshi Solar. Lightweight, tough, flexible, portable panels at a much more reasonable price than you’ll find elsewhere. Go ahead, take them to the ends of the earth – they’ll keep going.

ROCK SOLID DEPENDABILITY
It's the other kind of "hard power" -- rock solid power you can count on. Unlike other panels, ours are built to last years. We have (and continue to) use our own products, carrying them through extreme situations just to find out what we can do better. That means our panels will be there for you when you need them, every time.
INDIVIDUAL POWER
All our products are designed so you can carry them alongside your other equipment. Folded, they fit in a backpack. They put out more than enough power to charge the gear you probably carry. And, they weigh so little that they don't require you to leave other gear behind in order to bring solar along as well.
(Of course, if you're with a large group, it's easy to daisy chain multiple panels -- and their light weight means you can carry many more panels and provide far more power than you otherwise would.)
OPEN STANDARDS
We refuse to use proprietary connectors anywhere. You don't have to buy cables from us, you can make your own using off-the-shelf parts. This means if something unexpected comes along, you aren't beholden to us... you can jerry-rig a solution on the spot.
INDEPENDENCE
We want to empower you to operate without the conventional infrastructure of civilisation. Whether it's because you want to or whether circumstances mean you have no other choice -- our products give you freedom and independence.
DECENTRALISATION
Once you have our panels, that's it -- they work. There's no forms to fill or bills to pay to keep them running. Nobody (except maybe your boss) has to approve what you do with them.
UNSTOPPABLE POWER
The great thing about solar panels is... nobody can turn them off. Unlike generators, there's no long chain of logistics needed to constantly refine and transport fuel. They just keep producing power.
RESILIENCE
Infrastructure is great, when it works. Having a solar panel in your backpack means you can keep working when nothing else does. And our panels are built to be as tough as it gets. They're truly the "honey badger" of power sources... step on them, drop a bomb next to them, toss them around, and they just keep going!
